The Heritage Centre has been collecting oral histories from notable anaesthetists for several years. Initially carried out in conjunction with Oxford Brookes University, more recently the interviewers have been our volunteers who have been trained by the British Library and Oral History Society.
Recently, we have interviewed several military anaesthetists for the World War One exhibitions. Doctors who served in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan have taken part and discussed their experiences and the developments in patient care they were involved in. If you would like a transcription of any interview, please contact us.
